EMPLOYMENT

Graphic Designer - Freelance (1999-Present)

I created graphic designs in accordance with the annual theme of the Santa Barbara Fair & Expo. It included a campaign
of over 20 different graphics for advertising & promotion. Additionally, I designed maps and schedules for the
fairgrounds, the graphics for the staff t-shirts, and graphic elements to be used in video promotions.

I have created the graphics for the marketing campaigns of the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute’s Carnival/
Matsuri, which is their largest fundraising event of the year. It included flyers, posters, postcards, periodical ads and
banners. For the days of the event, I also designed the printed programs, maps, schedules, and donor listing signs.

I’ve designed calendars for the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute following their Style Guide. It has featured over
80 advertisements, including about a dozen designed by myself. It has also featured over 200 photographs, some taken
by me, which I helped select and process.

I conceived of, designed, built and installed custom signs for the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute’s: The Bridge
JCI Heritage Center. I’ve also conceived of, designed, built and installed rotating educational displays in the Center.

I designed a book of poetry, called “Colorful Lives: A Coloring-Tanka Poetry Book”. I drew all the illustrations and
contributed some of the photos.

Industrial Designer / Production & Installation Manager- Stacy Dukes Design (2002-2019)

I worked in collaboration with the Segerstrom Center for the Arts to mentor students from Circulos High School to design
and create a public art project. Based on the dimensions chosen by the students, I designed the frame of the structure,
made the architectural drawings, and materials lists and guided the students as they built the project. In collaboration
with a lighting expert, I designed, built and installed a platform to support the electronics for the display.

For another public art project for the City of Manhattan Beach, I helped to design and build public benches. I constructed
a series of scale models, and did most of the fabrication of the full-size prototype form that was used to make a mold.

I installed signs in the offices at CSU Fullerton, the Long Beach Museum of Art, and the Children’s Home Society.

Graphic Designer - Concepts (1996-2002)

I worked with a startup company, Heeling Sports Limited, Inc. and designed graphics to launch their new footwear
product, Heelys. I helped design their logo and created their logotype. I designed the graphics for their packaging and
instructions and tags that were with the product. I designed company business cards and stationery. I conceived of and
designed magazine ads. I also oversaw freelance designers and collaborated with them to design graphics for brochures,
t-shirt graphics, and trade show banners. I also designed Heelys product line sheets, decals, and graphics for sports bags
and caps. It helped launch the company, which has grown into a business with over two million dollars in annual revenue.

I created and designed Indy car racing t-shirt graphics for Bring-It Gear. I also designed tags and labels for their shirts, and
I designed company business cards and stationery.

I designed a product catalog for a line of purses called K•Michelle for Selekim-Pacific Holdings Corp.

I helped to design proposed Fox Sports merchandise apparel catalogs for presentation to Twentieth Century Fox
Licensing and Merchandising.

Working with Iron Knights Athletics and following style guidelines for the NFL, NBA, MLB and Division I Colleges, I would
take designs and adapt them for other teams. Then, I prepared the files for embroidery or silkscreening.
